I really loved being in that old school building. It was built in 1915 and if you google it you will see it's not half as attractive from the outside as the school you saw, but I really loved it on the inside.geewitshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11590044820333720010noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6759020785662372535.post-41525804112138432592008-11-02T17:21:00.000-05:002008-11-02T17:21:00.000-05:00I can just imagine how much those condos will cost...I can just imagine how much those condos will cost...Jazzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14644896022880634803noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6759020785662372535.post-18123135911545718162008-11-01T23:38:00.000-04:002008-11-01T23:38:00.000-04:00XUP: the separation of boys and girls probably acc...XUP: the separation of boys and girls probably accounts for the 6 entrances and stairwells. Here's a secret: I went to a 2-room school house for my first few years of school.Grade 1-4 in one class and 5-8 in the other taught by the pricipal.Boys and girls has separate playgrounds. Lordy, lordy, I'm so friggin' old. I actually learned cursive writing with a fountain pen!! Excuse me while I go and weep and/or think about using this for a future blog postAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6759020785662372535.post-91581368150796054362008-11-01T11:23:00.000-04:002008-11-01T11:23:00.000-04:00I really hope that the building is sympathetically...I really hope that the building is sympathetically converted. I was immensely lucky that my final junior school was in a beautiful house in Salisbury Cathedral Close, I know that since the late 18th century it has remained structurely unchanged but am not sure when it was originally built. I then was fortunate enough to go to a senior school which was mostly in a beautful Victorian building. The main hall was covered in oak panelling with the most gorgeous stained glass windows. I will try and get some pictures up on my blog.<BR/>MAMad Asthmatichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02900631070917123841noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6759020785662372535.post-61348543473156226462008-11-01T09:35:00.000-04:002008-11-01T09:35:00.000-04:00I can't wai to hear what is actually going to happ...I can't wai to hear what is actually going to happen to this great old building. In our town many derelict buildings have been successfully converted into apartments, keeping the integrity of the buildings intact as much as possible. It's a great way to hang on to them and have them decorate the city landscape. Many of them are for rent, so everyone can afford to live in them. Not only upscale buyers. Reasonable rents, that is. Let us know what happens.Irenehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05043376053971475659noreply@blogger.com
