I do appreciate this sense of humour from Holger in Liepzig
Life is Beautiful from Inese in Latvia
Sabine in Germany has reindeer near her town!
Maria in Moscow also included cool stamps
and a vintage (1925) shot of the Galata Port in Istanbul from Ahmet.
Interesting postcards.

How Intertnational!!
ReplyDeleteHow many have you got now? What an insanely fun idea.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely, it is so nice to hear from people when they are away travelling :)
ReplyDeleteThese are the latest cards from Postcrossing. We (Absynthe the cat and I) have new addresses in Finland, Germany and USA going out tomorrow. So far XUP, I have 10 received cards.
ReplyDeleteI am still keeping this in mind as a possible thing to do.
ReplyDeleteOhh, I love the Galata one. We lived in Istanbul 3 years, and that is one crazy floating bridge! 1925!
ReplyDeleteRuth: Oh I am envious - I have ALWAYS wanted to go to Turkey and especially Istanbul (a romantic notion, maybe it isn't so great anymore?). 3 years!
ReplyDeleteNice postcards, makes you dream of faraway places doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteIt was wonderful when we lived there, but I hear from friends that it has lost its "Orientness." Maybe. But I imagine it is still an incredibly beautiful mix of ancient Asia, medieval Europe and contemporary culture. I also imagine it is still a good bargain. Oh dear, now I want to plan a trip for you!
ReplyDeleteRuth, I suspected that it would have become too westernized and therefore a disappointment if I went now. But I will let you be my guide if I change my mind!
