It was worth the 6 hours to see the 60s fashions and decor! The movies are certainly too sweet and silly and predictable, but mostly fun. And the she had such great co-stars. (and has outlived them all)
Thanks so very much for your kind and caring words--It means a great deal to me...!
As a teenager growing up in New York, I saw Doris Day many many times when she was singing with Les Brown. They would have these big Stage Shows at the Movie Palaces like The Roxy and The Capitol Theatre---It was before the movies and "Romance On The High Seas"....She was GREAT!!
I love plugging into the the classic movies channel for the day! I sew and sew and sew while I watch old movies. I'm sorry I missed the Doris Day marathon. Don't think it was on here!
Such fun to see these. Those were the days :-) Glad we're not required to wear any of that stuff any longer: white gloves and pearls, yuck. Wouldn't mind the Calamity Jane suede though.
How fashion changes
ReplyDeleteGreat hats - great fun! I used to like Doris Day films - haven't watched one for years.

Those are certainly a lot of hats.
ReplyDeletePeanut butter and all those things you mention - no! Just with bread. Don't like salt and sweet together.

I think hats should make a fashion come-back! I fancy something large and ridiculous!! ;)

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun collection of photos. I adored Doris Day when I was a young girl. Thanks for the flash back.
