This week's Sunday Stamps had no specific theme
(which meant it took me ages to come up with one - I need structure!)
I eventually decided to post these stamps that have nameless faces on them.
Maybe someone out there can identify these people men.
though, I do recognize George Washington.....
ReplyDeleteWashington is the only one I recognize.
ReplyDeleteThe Spanish King is Juan Carlos I; King Albert II of Belgium. The man on the Finnish stamp was born in 1759, his name is Carl Erik Mannerheim. This stamp is part of a series issued in 2009 commemorating the birth of the Finnish nation.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bob! I didn't think they were Kings as there were no royal crowns. Silly me.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about needing structure, but you got yourself a great theme all the same. :)
ReplyDeleteI see your questions were answered. That relieves me of doing it. I didn't know the Finnish one anyway. XOX
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday Stamps! Thanks for participating! I am glad Bob was able to help. When there is no them I just look at what is available in my scanned file :-)
ReplyDeleteI started googling them, and then decided to check your comments in case someone had done my work for me. Thank you Bob.
ReplyDeleteInteresting.
ReplyDeleteFun. When I was a student, I stuck stamps in the endpapers of a photo album, taken from correspondence from my scattered friends across the world. My favourite was a cartoon drawing of a stamp on a postcard from a friend in Manhattan: instead of someone's head it just showed a caption, saying 'Place dead white guy's image here'.
