Christmas is the theme for this week. And I honestly thought it would be easy to find many Christmas themed stamps. I was wrong. Or maybe I just haven't looked hard enough at all my postcards.
So I have resorted to two of the Canadian stamps for this year
and we can compared them with one from Australia and one from New Zealand.
Personally, I much prefer the bright vibrant colours of the antipodean stamps!
All lovely and, interestingly, all religious. Perhaps the post office hasn't got the "all inclusive" message that seems so popular today. Good for them.
I don't even think we have such pretty Christmas stamps. Ours are much more firvolous. I especially like the Australian one because of its colors. They are all pretty though.
I agree, the Australian and NZ ones are brighter, but I love the design of the Canadian stamps. Our Christmas stamps and small, and don't look very Christmassy until you look closely. think Christmas stamps should be clear, simple and bright.
I'm with Sheila on a fondness for stained glass; its a nice theme. Love the Australian wise man, he could have travelled from Australia with the desert background.
Weirdly, we have to ask for Xmas stamps...we have a wonderful range of "kiwi stamps' for general use one of which is a sausage on a stick, but the others are things like fish and chips, gumboots and a red checked lambie/jacket, a caravan in the rain - let me know if you want me to post you something! :-) Merry Christmas too by the way.

ReplyDeleteNice. Love the theme of Christmas stamps. I wish the theme of love and charity could appear on stamps all year long.
ReplyDeleteOh the Canadian stamps are pretty swell I think. Thank you for participating!
ReplyDeleteThe two Canadian stamps look very like some recent UK Christmas stamps. I'm very fond of stained glass.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you about finding it difficult. I've received hardly any this year, but one was from Canada - and I was saving it for next week!! :) :)

ReplyDeleteThey are all nice. Here me have both religious and secular Christmas stamps.
ReplyDeleteIt's the New Zealand stamp that held my attention.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stamps!!! I love the Canadian ones!

ReplyDeleteAnd reflect the true meaning of Christmas, too.

ReplyDeleteEach of those stamps has its own merits. :)
