for Postcards Friendship Friday, a card declaring true friendship
this type of poetry is not to my taste
and I am not sure that sailboats,
dependent on the fickle wind,
is a perfect image of steady friendship and trust.
I wonder what occasion one might send this card to celebrate?
the back has an elaborately pretty art nouveau design with a variety of fonts
Individuality is the touch that tells
I guess they are using the image of sailing during perfect weather, when all is easy? But not so great when the storms hit!
ReplyDeleteso these might be fairweather friends?!
DeleteWow. The poem and its message was not so great but still the postcard is something to be admired. How old is it? Do you collect postcards?
ReplyDeleteyes, I do collect postcards. I like these older, early 20thC ones. I am guessing this one is from around 1910 or so, but that is just a guess, I couldn't find anything on Geo G Prince.
DeleteOooooh...this is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your concern. It is the oddest thing. I thought today was Friday. These events--Daddy's homegoing and my husband's cancer, have really had an impact upon me. Your concern is very touching to my heart. Thank you.
