Last week for Taphophile Tragics I told you about Alexander Muir and how a tree on his street had inspired him to write The Maple Leaf Forever, considered our unofficial national anthem.
I didn't have a photo of the tree because, well, I'd never gotten around to taking one.
Which is a crying shame because
before the week was out that tree was knocked down in a vicious storm.
Oh what a shame. I always feel so badly when I see a tree damaged...especially the older ones.
ReplyDeletewe had an awful lot of trees uprooted and broken in our area on Friday night.
DeleteYes...we did too. Nothing at our house but up and down the street there was quite a bit of damage tree wise.
DeleteSuch a shame.

Wow .... and such a big tree! It's always sad when a big (and old) tree gets knocked down.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing on Taphophile Tragics!
