ghosts and coffee

There is no story to go with this signs post. It's just a stand alone building in a slightly run down section of King Street in downtown Hamilton that serves excellent coffee. And all day breakfast. And has two ghost signs. And a pretty blue car parked out front.
One of the ghosts is for Parker and Son Cleaners, but I can't quite make out the other one.  The sign might have been updated after William Parker took over for his father, Robert Parker.  From what I've found, it was in operation from about 1915/20 until about 1975.

  3. I love ghost signs too. There's a page in Facebook now that collects them (and other old signs) for Glasgow so I'm going to start looking about for signs to add.

  5. I have driven by many ghost signs and had never noticed them. Some times I would be driving in the wrong direction. They are easier to find when I'm walking and looking up! Tom The Backroads Traveller

  8. Ghost signs are one of my favourite signs to photograph. I always research them on the internet. Sometimes I get lucky and am able find info about their history.

  12. I've never come across the expression 'ghost signs' either, but I rather like it. You could start a new challenge! I know lots of people who like dilapidated buildings.
