  1. Excellent pictures, love the reindeer. But I'm a stickler for traditional.

  3. I love menorahs. I like the deer one, but for pure elegance the top one is my favorite.

  5. Some of these are hilarious. And some are quite beautiful. And what a festive header!!

  6. All very attractive to this not very arty geriatric!

  7. Those are really cool. I imagine that last one is really popular in Florida with all those retired yankees.

  8. I rather like the traditional menorahs, with their tree of life look, though the modern ones look beautiful as pieces of useful art. I find it hard to reconcile the grinning cat with the solemnity of Hanukkah, and I cannot even contemplate the beach chairs.

  9. Since I'm not Jewish, I guess it's okay to think the cat menorah is kinda cool. ;)

  10. Love the red glass one (second one down). Don't like the reindeeer, and at first glance didn't like the dog. But now I have a sneaky regard for him. Its his smile that does it!

Those deck chairs are really, really tacky!

  11. Susan, well, I guess as a candleholder...

I would love to have the first and second ones in my home.
I was surprised to see many irreverent menorahs.
then again, I also am not keen on teddy bear nativity scenes, either.

  13. Thanks for this post. Nice. My niece has a collection of 10 menorah's for Chanukah. Her husband (a Mormon) gets her one each year. I think next year, I'll photograph each one to post on my blog. I like the modern ones, and yes, me, too, I like your new header. Happy holiday!

  14. Spiderama: almost missed you, glad you enjoyed these

Mim: glad you like these. wow, 10 menorahs! I had 2 and I'm not Jewish; I used to hope I wasn't being sacriligious by lighting them.
