end zone

My work schedule has been rearranged. The snacks and beer have been bought. Remember when I got my new tv, the slim version? Well, I realize one other advantage to having a flat screen with no big ass back end is being able to bring it outside. I can set it up on the balcony and not lose any of the beautiful weather while I watch SOCCER for the next month.
I still haven't decided which team to support (since we are not in it, quel surprise!), but I see that as an advantage: since I don't really care who wins, no matter what, I should be happy!

Now, I realize a good number of you don't give a rat's ass about this event...

so, I'll leave you with these amusing asses just so you don't think you've wasted your time reading this post.

I've got you covered

  1. France. And Spain. It seems Spain is a contender this year. It's time they won.

Ah... A month of soccer. A month of hot boys. Who I just recently realized are young enough that I could be their mother.

Is it creepy to find them really hot when you're old enough to be their mom?

  2. PS: love the swan butt pics!

  3. Jazz: don't even go there - age is irrelevant when you are that hot!

    and yes, Spain is due.

    aren't they cute!

  4. Preferably France or Spain but any team will do as long as it's not Italy, Germany or North Korea. Enjoy your flat screen, the snacks and the weather. Kickoff is in 40 minutes (9:30 D.S.T.)

  5. Mr Jazz: I'm ready!
I had hopes for Ivory Coast, too.

and then, there's England (but I will refrain from comment as I have too many English readers...)

  11. Hey, what's wrong with Germany, Jazz Man? Sure, the play a boring game, but they're almost always in the finals. I'm going with Germany and if they totally blow this year, France. I can't bear to watch Spain -- they're too hot.

LV: I do like to surprise people! Thanks for visiting.

Spiderama: they were also doing a nice duet in the water, but I was too far away for photos.

  15. XUP: have you got your flags ready??

Cinner: well, bear in mind it may be flat, but it is also small. I may have to find someone with a large screen HD...

Jeannette: I was hurrying to get closer as they were doing a lovely duet in the water and was surprised (and pleased) when they continued with their grooming.

  20. Those swans must have some itchy butts. You should come to Texas and watch all this soccer with My Sweetie. He'd appreciate a fellow fan.

  23. very funny!
I don't know much about soccer but I love the excitement a huge event like this brings so many people. It sure beats depressing oil spills.
People deserve some happiness in their lives & this is just loads of fun.

  24. I came across your blog in a casual sort of way, as you do, and smiled at your description of yourself. My niece is Canadian too - she's nice - and kind. I'm not Canadian so I'm neither - just an averagely dour Brit.
Love the swan photos - I see a lot of swans, but not usually on land.

  25. Lily: yes, it might be the excitement around a world competition that draws me to the World Cup and the Olympics.

Jabblog: well then, I hope you will return. these guys don't venture very far out of the water, which keeps them safely away from road traffic!

  26. LOL! Swans' asses are much more picturesque than rats' asses any old day!

  27. Tee hee! Love your photos!

I don't know a lot about soccer but I imagine I'll know a lot more in the next 30 days. :)

  28. I won't be watching the games but I'm sure I will still be hearing about them...Hope your team wins whichever one you decide on!

  29. Susan: there's certainly more to their posterior... and they do have a cute wiggle.

EGWow: it will be hard to escape, since CBC is all over it...

Oliag: I usually wait until the finals so as to avoid too many disappointments when each team falls by the wayside.

  30. Definitely don't give a rat's ass about the football!! But your pictures are lovely.

  31. Geewits: it does sound a little rude, doesn't it? watch the games and listen to the noise from the stands. I think I prefer the chanting.

CJ: somehow, your disinterest doesn't surprise me! since I have no cute lambs to photograph, I aim for whatever part of the swan is facing me.

  32. I'm American and know nothing about soccer (dare I admit) but I do know these are great pictures! I got a good laugh!
