Sunday Stamps - Olympics

it turned out that many of the stamps I thought were olympic themed were, in fact, for other sporting events, so this became more of a challenge than I expected. and the post office did not have any of the rowing stamps for these 2012 games in stock when I went this week.
since these are the summer games, I am showing these three from the last ones in Beijing.
I will admit that I find the logos from the 2008 and 2012 games to be a little less than exciting.
(though this pleased-with-herself-figure on the trampoline is cute)

  1. The Italian stamp is really cool, mixing ancient Greek and Chinese symbols. I have never seen this stamp before!

  2. I love the Beijing trampolinist!

I don't know what they are thinking with the London mascot. It's completely unrecognisable as anything.

  3. Fantastic stamps! I agree with Marcie, the stamp mixing the ancient Greek symbols on classical Grecian pottery; blended with Chinese sporting figures on traditional Chinese blue-and-white porcelain: well it is just brilliant. Totally love it!

  4. Love your stamps this week, especially the trampoline stamp. I can relate to the expression of the cute trampolinist on the stamp. Fun, fun!
I agree with Sheila on the London Olympics mascots. My husband (who is English) and I had a good laugh when we saw them the other day while reading news online.

  5. Haven't seen any of the UK Olympic stamps yet - hope they are good and colourful!

    Like your trampoline stamp!

  6. The China ones almost look like written characters, guess they have used some play on that, nice combination with the cute trampolinist. They certainly made a better attempt at mascots than ours.

  7. I'd go for the Italian stamp. UK Royal Mail is showing presentation packs of Olympic stamps - 10 stamps for £6 - all with the logo in one corner. Somehow I can't see me getting any.

  10. I like the first of the China stamps - so abstract I had to take a second to see what it was.
