  2. It's amazing what you find once you start looking for it. Even birds with unsightful numbers on them, poor things. Marked by man. The things we do!

  3. The poor swans are numbered..I guess they must be in some sort of a conservation program:)

  4. Very nicely done, and very interesting choice of numbers. :)

  5. Great shots! Are they Swans or Snow Geese? :-)

  6. Mr Nighttime: I'm sure you can find lots to shoot!

Nora: normally, those unsightly numbers really annoy me when I am trying to get a lovely shot of the swans... now they were useful to me!

FFF: yes, all part of the rehabilitation, they are kept track of and cared for with love!

Dibear: I tried for a variety; all found over two days of walking the streets.

Ed: these are swans making themselves look like dirty snow lumps!

  11. Char: thanks, I've always thought having an address like 8 1/2 would be neat.

  12. Clevvvvver! Such a clevuh gurl!
    Love these!
    Is the alphabet coming next.
An interesting thing that one of my classes did was to take the digital camera and go outside and find things in nature that had the shape(s) of the letters of the alphabet. Talk about having to look for the things one doesn't usually look for....but what a great experience.
    Love these numbers.....
    Good on ya!
    Love,

  14. Very interesting on numbered swans. I wonder why we have half numbers suffix on addresses.

    A great set of numbers!

  15. That's a great idea. I'll have to give it a go!

  16. Teacher's Pet: thanks. there was another blogger (and sadly, I forget who exactly) who did a weekly series of finding things that looked like letters of the alphabet.

morephotosplease: yeah, that last one was great, with all of them asleep (and no ducks getting in the way like they usually do!)

Ebie: in this case, it is for the apartment above the store. Usually we see a letter designation for the apartments (8A)

    Scott: have fun with it!

  17. 8 1/2 ? Why would somebody have that for an address instead of the more usual 8A? What if there were two apartments? Would the second one be 8 3/4 perhaps? Okay - no more wine for me today ...

  18. I'll have some wine since now you me thinking about that, Pinklea.

  19. Nice collection of numbers, they really are all around us. I'm surprised how big the tags are on the swans; I hope they're light. :)

    ReplyDelete
  20. AmyR: they don't seem to be bothered by them. and the tags do often get partially hidden by the feathers, so I guess they need to be big enough to see from a distance.

  21. was the 8 1/2 someones house number(?)

  22. Those numbered birds are cracking me up.

  23. Chloe: yes, it was for the upstairs of a store

Geewits: I've gotten used to them, so much so that I wonder about the ones without a yellow tag.

  26. Sistertex: thanks

Stine: wouldn't that be fun to say... if just for the look of confusion on people's faces. I wonder how it works when filling in those boxes for addresses?

  27. I was wondering what those were and clicked to see that they're swans! Great shot! :)

  30. I love having a thematic intention when going out. It's quite amazing the synchronicity that comes about. Now you've made me want to watch for numbers.
