Everywhere you go, people spontaneously burst into conversation.
"A lovely day, isn't it?"
"AND, the weekend is going to be even better!"
It isn't like we have had a horrendous winter (as have some of you, poor things). Very little snow and not much of the bitter cold of winters past. But, let the sun shine and the sky turn a brilliant shade of blue and suddenly the energy changes. Giddy, and happy.
Or not. A loud discussion with this pair of Canada Geese went on, and on, with no clear winner.

Though these guys were definitely frisky, not all were in a good mood.
This poor swan was in a right foul mood
chasing everyone and nipping at any poor soul who got in her way.
But, we all got our exercise, one way or another!
Have a great weekend, everybody.

and if you so desire, take a little walk over to
Eddie Bluelights blog
and check out my roasting at
I suppose the birds will be as happy as folks, to be able to see the ice break and get in for a swim.
ReplyDeleteI suppose these birds return after migrating for the winter months.
Actually, Anil, these ones overwinter here - so there are less of them in the summer months!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't believe the sun actually came out this week, it was a shock. Looks like the rest of the weekend and into next week is finally going to be warming up.
ReplyDeleteIt may not have been a terribly cold, snowy winter, Mr Nighttime but it sure has been dull and grey, hasn't it?
ReplyDeleteI did visit Eddie's blog and your Roast was great! Yes spring is definitely in the air!! And I love it. I too have a big grin on my face!
ReplyDeleteHugs
SueAnn
I've come from Eddie's blog....
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I love your header...stunning!
Second, being from the deep south (U.S.A) I NEVER see frozen lakes...and your photograph is spectacular...something I am certainly not used to seeing...but would love to. Congratulations on your roast at Eddie's.
I hope you don't mind if I visit you.
Smiles and hugs from Jackie
Oh Sanna, that was a great roast with you and Eddie Bluelights and you looked just how I imagined you would look.
ReplyDeleteI'm stopping over from Eddie Bluelights to say hello to a fellow chocolate lover!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your interview very much and will now have a peek around your blog. I'm sure I'll be back again soon.
Cheers,
jj
I had to look for a temperature converter. We didn't get as warm as they were predicting either, but it definitely felt like Spring. Love the swans.
ReplyDeleteThank you, SueAnn. Yes, everyone seems to have a smile on their face theses days.
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you, Jackie, and thanks for the invite - I'll head over to yours to have a read. I certainly don't mind if you visit, it's all free and I'll enjoy your company! I'm glad you like my photography (I like critiques and compliments on my pics!)
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks, Nora. It's actuially a little daunting to show my self photo!
ReplyDeleteHello, Joanna. Glad you stopped by and I always share my chocolate... I prefer the dark, though.
ReplyDeleteI menat to put a conversion in for you guys, SAW, I'll fix that. I cannot take enough pictures of the swans - especially when they are active. This one was a hoot to watch!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it the truth? The sun is a different color and it provides some actual warmth...and all the people blossom! I am very very tired of Winter White Sky!
ReplyDeleteLove the last swan picture! Those wings look like fluffy layers of tulle!
And the air smells of early spring, June. Ahhh, yes, swans and ballet - a perfect pairing.
ReplyDeleteSanna, Hello! I don't know how it is that I've missed meeting you all this time!!! Your blog is simply beautiful!!! Was so delighted with your interview at Eddie's that I had to come for a visit!! So great to meet you!! And I love this post!!! What fabulous photos!! ~Janine XO
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to have helped broaden your horizons, Janine! Thank you for coming over. Eddie's roast was fun to do.
ReplyDeleteWow - 12 C really is balmy.. almost tropical... Woke up to minus 19 C here today!
ReplyDeleteOh dear. Your turn will come, ladifi
ReplyDelete12C - that's a heatwave!
ReplyDeleteLove the birds, we get a lot of Canada geese on our lake, particularly at this time of year. Its not a very big lake, but there must be over 50 there now - rather too many for the size of lake. Needless to say, along with all the ducks, it gets a bit crowded and quarrelsome when folk turn up with bread for them!
Hi Sanna,
ReplyDeleteIt must be a wonderful week cause you have just had a very good interview,
I am indeed very happy to see face behind the windows and the skys.Hah!
Simply gorgeous here, too! I love hearing the birds singing their little hearts out...love is in the air!
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures! I think that swan was just annoyed that so many birds were crowding her pool!
Wonderful post, the duck shots are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteFeeding the Geese is not encouraged here, Gilly!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Thomas. And thanks for your nice comment on Eddie's from my roasting. Now I have to change my hair... or something!!
ReplyDeleteYes, the singing birds is most welcome, Susan! That little bay area of unfrozen lake was indeed crowded.
ReplyDeleteThanks, JM. I do like to practice my photography on them!
ReplyDeleteWhat BEAUTIFUL skies and lovely photos of waterfowl in your marvelous post today. Thanks for sharing. We've had mostly grey skies, billowy clouds and rain this past week but I'm not complaining because we NEED the water here in Southern California.
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
Thanks for appearing on The Sunday Roast, Sanna, A pleasure to have you on the show.
ReplyDeleteI think we shall get some more comments tonight/tomorrow ~ Eddie
Thanks, HRG. It felt as if we'd had grey skies for weeks, then a week and a half ago it finally snowed.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome, Eddie. Thanks for stopping by here.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah! Even if it wasn't the worst winter, it was still long and dreary. Feeling the sunshine, trading boots for shoes, ice and snow melting... I am a happy camper.
ReplyDelete... and the light spring jackets, don't forget those, Jazz. It feels so liberating.
