The bath is drawn. Hot water filled with foaming, frothy bubbles. Ginger and Lime. Candles create a dance of lace patterned shadows on the wall. The lights are dimmed to just enough for reading. The Saturday Globe & Mail lies on the floor, each section carefully separated. A tray with a glass of juice, pear (with ginger and lime to match the bubbles) and a small box of chocolates is within easy reach. k.d.lang is singing.
She leans back. Sighs into the warmth. Opens the box of Lindor and unwraps the first of the three chocolate balls. She takes the Style section and holds arms aloft to turn the front page back.
Oops. What.....??
The Globe T.O. section has fallen. Thank goodness for the bubbles. It is only half soaked.
Later.... the dried T.O. section is mildly scented. Lovely.
OMG...what a lovely scene. I hope you enjoyed your leisure.
ReplyDeleteI love bubble baths. But what's th eGlobe T.O. section?
ReplyDeleteCitizen: the T.O. is a skinny 4 page section about Toronto happenings. It can easily get lost. I usually buy cheap bubble bath, so this good stuff with long lasting bubbles is amazing for me.
ReplyDeleteLong lasting bubbles are the best. Do you suppose they insulate the hot ester better?
ReplyDeleteHow water! Jeez!
ReplyDeleteHot water!
ReplyDeleteThe Globe and Mail - not my fave newspaper. So, bubbles might be a good thing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting me. I will call again when I get back!
ReplyDeleteNice blog!
That sounds nice. I can't wait until it gets cooler here so I can soak in a warm tub.
ReplyDeleteTimes like this -- isn't it grand being single?
ReplyDeleteIrene: it is always so disappointing to get into a tub of what started out as hot water but disintegrated into tepid water. I never thought about the bubble as insulating, hmm must try it again.
ReplyDeletePinkea: ...and most definitely not the Toronto section, eh?!!
ReplyDeletegeewits: yeah, I guess a long hot soak doesn't have quite the same impact where you are!!
ReplyDeleteXUP: oooh, yeah, baby.
ReplyDeleteOOh a lovely hot bubble filled bath, with juice and chocolate how decadent,
