A warming drink for gazing out the window.
Start it now and by the time you've put away the patio furniture you can sit back and enjoy.

  1. The idea of some drinks like apple cider, hot chocolate and coffee always sound so good to me, but I can't drink them without feeling ill. So, alas, I'm going to have to mull wine instead...sigh...

  3. Yum! I did a cocktail mixology course at our local Polytech and had a ball! I even flavour my own vodka sometimes using Christmas Tea... it's lovely!

  5. Now, Add 4 jiggers of hard whiskey.

Makes the flavor rough, and the feeling smooooooth.

Do it every year at Christmas. Wanna come?

  6. Mine is similar:
    quart of apple cider
    quart of apple juice
    two oranges
    cloves
    cinnamon sticks

push cloves into oranges until they look like WWII floating mines,

drop into juices in crockpot with a few cinnamon sticks.

I always make this at Christmas and it makes the house smell so yummy. It's also good with rum, but add the rum in the glass or the alcohol will be cooked out.

geewits: I've heard of that method too - though not described as a WWII floating mine!!

  9. That sounds beyond wonderful. can I add something alcoholicy to that?

  10. MA: I like the addition of cranberry juice, but you can easily leave that out for a richer apple taste.

Irene: you certainly may. but put it in your glass - I leave the crock pot on all day, you'd have no alcohol left if you did that!

  14. Guillaume: I always look forward to apple cider in the fall, and when it gets cold outside, mulled is wonderful.
