Emma

I have just learned of the sad passing of a good blog friend, Mad Asthmatic on the weekend. She was a loyal and cheerful commenter to my blog and I, and perhaps many others, had become concerned by the silence following her last post which was very aptly and poignantly titled 'No Regrets'.

Everyone who read her blog knew that her health was not good and was deteriorating. Emma expressed frustrations of the limitations of her disease, but she was also so full of hope and plans and dreams for her future, whatever lay ahead.

When I travelled to England last summer we made plans to meet, for a day trip, or later, when it appeared she would not be well enough for that, for tea. Unfortunately she was still in hospital during my stay and the visit didn't take place, much to both our disappointment.

Be at Peace, Emma.

  3. So sad someone so full of hope and plans and dreams for her future
    has left us.

I have a "farewell to you all, it was nice being here" post set up 6m in the future (postings for a future date are possible on Wordpress), just in case something were to happen to me. Obviously, I keep on resetting that date.

Anyway, I assume her untimely death will touch you more, since you were were close and had planned to meet.

Your post reminds me that life can pass quickly - I must arrange to meet the Antwerp bloggers I've never met but only chatted with online these passed two years.

  7. I awoke with a lump in my throat on realizing that I would not be hearing from MA (Emma) today. I think she had that effect on all of us. She was so feisty and clever it was the highlight of my day when I saw a new comment from her. How sad that you had plans to meet and it didn't work out. I'm sure it would have been a memorable visit. She will be missed by so many.

  8. Thanks for letting us know. How sad. She wasn't feeling well lately so I guess in one way it wasn't surprising, but this is always something that's a shock to hear.
    I'll miss her.

  9. Oh no! I had barely gotten to know her but she was such a strong and beautiful spirit.

While I feel sad that she is gone from this world a part of me rejoices that she is breathing easier in the next.

  16. Oh. I didn't know this. I have been following her blog for sometime, and we exchanged a few emails, when she won one of my book comps. She was a very courageous lady.
