Recently, I needed to buy some bubble wrap for a parcel I was posting. Because, who has bubble wrap just laying around waiting to be used as wrap? How long would it last in your house before you started popping? And because you can't just buy this stuff by the metre (which would have been more than enough for my immediate need) I now have a whole roll of the stuff sitting there, taunting me.
Which is why I am so happy to have found this:
bubblewrap
(make sure speakers are on)
So how do you pop your bubble wrap?
One at a time?
By the row?
Randomly?
Twisting?
Do tell. I like knowing these details about people!
Personally, I like to put it on the floor and pop it with my bare feet. It's extremely satisfying. Plus it gives your feet a little mini-massage. Not really, but it sounds good, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteOut of sight, out of mind is my motto when it comes to bubble wrap. I store it in the basement, under the stairs, behind two boxes of dishes that are behind the old vacuum cleaner. See, it works!
Susan: until now. you're thinking about it, aren't you?
ReplyDeleteyou know I've never thought of stomping on it in bare feet ... it does sound good!
I pop bubble wrap very methodically by the row. That gives me satisfaction in the orderliness of it. It's almost as good as popping zits or peeling skin from a sunburn or pulling scabs off. Yes, I know, I am a strange woman.
ReplyDeleteI can't get the link to work!
ReplyDeleteBut bubble wrap? Definitely random. I find it stressful to pop in rows.
Okay, tried it differently, so hope the link is working.
ReplyDeleteI watched Ellen (a talk show) yesterday and it was her birthday show. Amy Poehler gave her 250 feet of bubble wrap as a present.
ReplyDeleteI have different methods, depending on my stress level.
I pop according to mood......boredom is a one popper moment, distraction generally comes out as a twist and anger comes out as a group of pops at once.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit to being a bubble wrap popping virgin.... But hey, I'll have to lose it one day...
ReplyDeleteI love bubble wrap! Did you know you can also buy it with huge bubbles? I like that one best for barefoot popping, the rest I just randomly pop and I always try ansd leave a few so that I can go back to it. Kinda like having chocolate in your desk drawer and telling yourself that you'll have only one piece...
ReplyDeleteI love twisting a whole section of it and hearing them all pop together... but then sometimes one at a time is good, randomly!
ReplyDeleteI do so like coming here, thankyou, Katie, x
Irene: Then we are both strange!
ReplyDeleteJazz: I get upset if I do it in a row and miss one...??
Char: ... erm, I was hoping no one would notice the timing of my inspiration
ReplyDeleteWidget: welcome, sounds like my method
Delwyn: seriously?!! did the link work for you?
Sagittarian: Isn't it odd that I've never thought of popping them with my feet? And I also find it exciting to find the odd one that was missed, just like the chocolate addiction!
ReplyDeleteKatie: And I like having you visit. Playing twister with a sheet is fun, like tiny fire crackers.
ReplyDeleteManic mode - starting with a few random bbbles and escalating to twisting it or stomping on it.
ReplyDeleteCitizen: another stomper - I may have to drag some out of the closet and try that.
ReplyDeleteVariety. A few bubbles here and a few bubbles there, slowly increasing the pace and the frenzy but I always end with popping the bubbles against my face for the sensation. Thanks for this. It has been fun.
ReplyDeletei like imagining the bubbles are the heads of people who have annoyed me. makes me feel instantly better.
ReplyDeleteLink worked after I clicked it a couple of times
ReplyDeleteI used to like bubble wrap (I was a twister) but I was never at the addict level like my daughter. But after spending most of last year packing up my parents' house, I don't care for it anymore.
ReplyDeleteLGS: again, I never thought of doing that either - against the face. Must try it.
ReplyDeleteRaincloud: I like that!!
ReplyDeleteDelwyn: whew, had a few problems with it, don't know why.
geewits: definitely need the novelty factor for the enjoyment. and you sure lost that with all your work.
ReplyDeleteSomeone here (Midlands) was marketing a product on tv that looked like a ball of dough. You caress it, feel it, etc, etc in your hand to release stress. Oh, and each is a different colour and gives off a different smell. (Scent to a lady.) Simple!
ReplyDeleteHave you let the cat loose on some? (You do have a cat, right??) If they're claw are long enough, it's wild loads of fun. Me, I'm kind of over the bubble wrap high
ReplyDeleteKen: caressing to relieve stress ... I like that idea!
ReplyDeleteXUP: My cat just sits there at a safe distance, watching, looking at me as if WTF, where are my claws?
ReplyDeleteMe personally, a little bit of everything, but mostly I make shapes out of the ones not popped.
ReplyDeleteEd: now that is creative!
ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely bubbles! Thanks! I really enjoyed the link. In fact, I am going to spread it around and post in on my diet blog... (it's a really boring blog, don't bother looking for it)
ReplyDeleteKatherine: you are so welcome - and it could be perfect for a diet blog!!
