I saw purple today, Sanna, that reminded me of you. Violets growing along a creek bank. I showed my grandkids how to play fighting roosters with them. Oh, that didn't come out quite right! I meant the color and the name reminded me of you! hehehe
Char: I was a bit ahead of the trend when I first painted my accent wall 12 years ago and had so much trouble finding accessories to match, then suddenly that colour was/is everywhere. Still love it.
Fighting roosters is a little game we played back in olden times when I was a young lass. (We didn't have very many toys!) You take two violets and hook the blooms together and then jerk and whichever one isn't beheaded is the winner. It's a little gruesome when you think about it.
Cottonreel: thanks - and I'm glad you enjoyed George (I have only seen his movies maybe twice, but remember thinking they were silly and funny. I was likely in a silly mood at the time.)
gorgeous - gorgeous shots. that is my favorite shade of purple too.
ReplyDeleteThose are fabulous photos! Great take on the theme.

ReplyDeleteI just love the colors of a sunrise - magical.
ReplyDeleteI think purple and gray make an excellent color combination, just a passing remark :)
ReplyDeleteVery nice sky shot through your window.
ReplyDeleteCitizen: it felt magical at the time
ReplyDeleteIrene: oh yes, I'd forgotten about that combination, it is nice together - more subtle than orange and purple
