  3. I saw purple today, Sanna, that reminded me of you. Violets growing along a creek bank. I showed my grandkids how to play fighting roosters with them. Oh, that didn't come out quite right! I meant the color and the name reminded me of you! hehehe

  5. Char: I was a bit ahead of the trend when I first painted my accent wall 12 years ago and had so much trouble finding accessories to match, then suddenly that colour was/is everywhere. Still love it.

  8. Susan: you are probably lucky I am not familiar with 'fighting roosters'!! but, anything that makes you think of me ... that's so sweet.

  10. Fighting roosters is a little game we played back in olden times when I was a young lass. (We didn't have very many toys!) You take two violets and hook the blooms together and then jerk and whichever one isn't beheaded is the winner. It's a little gruesome when you think about it.

We lived in simple times, yes we did.

  17. Frogdancer: we call them eggplant, too. I just like saying "aubergines"
(this would be my alter ego!)

Delwyn: though I actually prefer the deep (or bold) shades.

  25. Cottonreel: thanks - and I'm glad you enjoyed George (I have only seen his movies maybe twice, but remember thinking they were silly and funny. I was likely in a silly mood at the time.)
