winter daze

a public service announcement

if you are not going to clear
all the snow
from the roof of your car
you should perhaps not open
the sun roof
when you want
to let in some air
when you feel overheated

thank you

now stop laughing

  2. oops! and yes, I giggled. reminds me of when I went to Charlotte and it snowed (it rarely snows in Bama). I cleaned off the windows but not the top of the car...so the first time I slid to a top - plop!!! tons more snow on the windshield.

  4. Irene: happy to give you the giggles

Ian: ones that should be well heeded

  5. Char: I felt rather stupid, really. Totally not thinking. I cleaned off the top, but not the middle bits where I couldn't reach.

  6. Ruth: Not too much. It was rather light and fluffy and drifted... while I frantically pressed the button to close the window. And, actually, I did laugh at myself.

  12. Thanks for a wonderful laugh! Now that is something I would do so I guess it's a good thing I don't have a sunroof!

  15. I am enjoying reading your cold weather postings violetsky as I simmer in 30 C. It is wonderful to experience the world vicariously and not feel the cold....
The little white balls in the plant on 'sightlines' remind me of those poppa beads we had as kids in NZ. Did you have them?

  16. Now, see, if you had heated seats, this would not have been an issue. You would have been sitting in an in-car hot tub!

  18. Oliag: So I'm not the only absent-minded one?!

Ed: You'll want to experience it, at least once, don't you?

  19. XUP: yup, you'll be wanting one of those in your new car that you need to buy.

  20. Pinklea: Heated seats would have melted me at that point!!

    Scott: You are so welcome.

  21. Delwyn: Needed to look up those beads ... I had completely forgotten about them! Popular in the 50's apparently. Memories are coming back, yes, I guess the 'berries' do look rather like them.

You aren't anywhere near any of the forest fires are you?

  22. I grew up in Illinois.. one year I forgot to put the top up on my MG and well, the next morning I had a suprise.... :-)
probably not too smart leaving the top down but, Oh Well.

  23. Ed: I was always worrying whenever it rained that I'd left the roof open... but I think it became like brushing teeth - an automatic gesture to close it - as it was never open after rushing outside in the rain to close it.

  31. I live in Noosa, Queensland and while those fires were down south we do experience them here too. We are subtropical so at this time of year get plenty of rain which keeps the groundcover damp...and makes it very humid. Noosa is a piece of paradise - if you google noosa.com.au you will see.
