I quite like these Machin stamps and am always excited to add one more colour to my collection. There are so many colours and shades
Machins first appeared in 1967, so this will be the 50th anniversary in June.find more green stamps at Sunday Stamps II
The Machins are certainly fascinating. And with ever increasing postage, there are sure to be more.
ReplyDeleteApparently the colours were suppose to help speed up the mail sorters, but we all know people see different shades of the same colour.
Delete...and a happy green anniversary!
ReplyDeleteI wonder what kind of special anniversary edition will be released!
DeleteI do not collect stamps, but the hobby has tempted me. I am always fascinated by the art on stamps, and I love to shop for them. This year, I fell in love with the "150 Of Photography" collection, and quite frankly, am having a hard time using them.
ReplyDeleteI've not heard of Machine stamps before today, and was interested enough to do a bit of reading on their history. They are quite the big deal as it turns out.
Nice to visit here this morning,
Andrea
Oh, I know what you mean! I have many stamps that I can't bear to part with.
DeleteI had to google "Machins." Do you keep all your stamps in books?
ReplyDeleteyes, I do! have a couple of large binders for them all.
DeleteI also have a biscuit tin full of unsorted stamps...
