sigh

It has turned cold but is still dreary and sunless.
Watching Ellen. Hoping for some cheer and good laughs.
Pleased that Amy Poehler was on, because she is really funny.

Ellen:  "How old are your kids now?"

AmyP:  "1 and 3..."

Ellen:  "and do they know about Christmas?"

AmyP:  "they are just starting to get to know Christmas"
...
AmyP:  "I was starting to tell the kids the story of Christmas, y'know about Santa and how he lives at the North Pole..."

I may have to rethink my opinion of her.

  1. We all have a different notion about what the "story" of Christmas is...different strokes for different folks.

  3. Maybe she meant "The Rudolph Story." She can just get the DVD.

  4. I'm too old to believe in an Amy Poehler. Actually, I don't know who she is anyway.

  5. I know who Ellen is, but Amy is unknown to me.

  6. Whatever your beliefs, the story of Christmas is the story of Christ. If you want a winter festival, then Santa, reindeer, and all the rest of the tinselly slushy stuff can be as big as you like.

Sorry, I feel strongly about it!

  7. Well, I knew there was a reason I didn't think AP was particularly funny.
