Monday AMuse

originally seen on Crossroads (who lives in Istanbul, not say, Halifax).

Check out their website Pomegranatephone and see how it becomes a coffeemaker, a shaver, and even a harmonica. (It is especially worth your while seeing the harmonica)

This is truly the most bizarre advertising concept.

  1. Just because they can, I guess that's the answer. I really want a little portable espresso makes for myself, that's all it needs to do. Would that be too much to ask?

  2. What! No cream and sugar? Sorry, it can't be for me!

That's the most freakin' hilarious thing I've seen in ages!

I want to see that woman shaving her armpits! LMAO!!!

  3. After checking out all the options of this phone, click on 'release date'. And remember those images on the phone's screen, in the introduction? look again, paying closer attention.

  4. All I could think was that playing the harmonica would not only give you coffee breath, but you'd probably inhale a bunch of whisker dust, too!

  6. be my guest, Angie - did you read through the whole thing (i.e. the 'release date' bit) and see what it is advertising?

  7. That is just plain weird! But I love the harmonica concept!!

Went through to release date, and was so surprised!! Do they really think it will attract people?

    But definitely quirky!

  10. This is an ad for something completely unrelated isn't it? I can't remember what. If they hadn't thrown in that coffee maker you could almost believe it was real

XUP: Halifax was a broad hint.

  12. I've always wanted to visit Nova Scotia, no idea why. I think I like the sound of the name...

  13. ...it kinda trasnlates to New Scotland or something doesn't it?

  14. Sag: well, maybe beacuse it is one of the most beautifully rugged places on earth to visit? not so unlike your own beautifully rugged place on earth.

and yes it does mean New Scotland which it resembles.

  15. Sanna, that is soooo cool! To quote Liz Lemon on "30 Rock", "I want to go to there." The mister and I had a trip planned to Nova Scotia a few years ago and had to cancel because of family issues, but I'm still waiting on my chance to go. Now I'd like to live there, except for the brutal winters.

  16. Susan: the plan, when I moved here, was to earn lots and lots of money so I could move to NS. Now, no way would I want to subject myself to months of bad hair days and those awful, neverending winters. But, a holiday - definitely.
