Spring has arrived at last. Oh, I know it has been here for awhile, but the feeling and sound of spring has been absent. As has the sight of spring. I was getting almost depressed at the postings of so many bloggers of their daffs and tulips... and now irises and roses when we had NOTHING. But, it seems as if suddenly this week it is all coming together. The flowers are blooming in the gardens, the trees are getting that bright lime green of new buds. The garden centres are opening. And the grass is green and long and needing mowing.
I am fortunate to live surrounded by many trees. They make a great noise barrier, far more than you might expect. So hurry up and fill out and block all this incessant mowing. Please.
I so dislike the sound of lawnmowers. Especially if someone is dumb enough to use one on a Sunday. I hope your trees fill in quickly so they will block the sound of them. That will be a blessed day, won't it? I'm glad spring is finally there, you've waited long enough.
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed wonderful when spring arrives. Over here it is now really and truly winter and I have been so cold. Everyone is wearing their warm gear now.
ReplyDeleteLawnmowers are horrid, and so are leaf blowers. What was wrong with rakes?
Nora: well, it is still struggling, spring is.
ReplyDeletePersiflage: I detest leaf blowers, with a passion. Any king of gardening implement that requires ear protection is simply overkill in my mind.
Ah spring!
ReplyDeleteah, sigh!
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring! Oh and I really enjoyed the video in your last post. My wife said that the dog reminded her of me. sigh.
ReplyDeleteI love the sound of mowing in the morning. Our spring has lasted way longer than usual this year. We are usually already into summer weather by now but they are forecasting more cool nights and no 90's coming up for awhile. Very unusual, but I like it alot.
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking lately about how sumer has finally arrived! I sure love hearing the birds through my open windows.
ReplyDeleteGive those mowers the evil eye. Thanks for your visit and kind comments.
ReplyDeleteOne man (or woman) starts to mow, they all start. Or strimmers. Or hedgecutters. And there is our Song thrush, singing his hear out, and the blackbird on the roof advertising himself very loudly, and until they've all finished their wretched lawns, I can't hear them!
ReplyDeleteEvery home needs a sheep, in my opinion.
I'm glad spring is happening somewhere, cuz it sure ain't happening here. I'll take the sound of a lawnmower over the sound of a snowplow any day!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you about those trees. We need 'em!
