Isabelle: yes, it was very peaceful. and much better than watching her health fail any more. it was the kind of ending I think I would like if there was no hope.
So sorry for the loss of your old companion. Kitties can be so sweet and loving. It's good that you are a photographer. You can make a nice memory photo album of Abby. I'm sure you have lots of photos.
Oh how sad...sending wobbly hugs from NZ! I am so thankful my 2 moggies are still ok but Lynx is slowing down big time. They are such characters aren't they?
So sorry to read about Abby's death. She got to a good age! I hope you can get another cat and have some comfort there. I still miss having a cat, and being able to indulge in lots of stroking of fur, and appreciating the purring - such a wonderful sound and sensation.
Oh, how sad. My sincere condolences, Sanna.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry. I know how much you loved Abby, and I'm quite sure she loved you right back just as much. Take care of yourself! xo

Nora: dank voor uw vriendelijke woorden
ReplyDeletePinklea: thanks, she was probably the calmest cat I have ever had
Susan: thank you. once she lost all interest in eating, I knew it was time.

I am so sorry...it is never easy.
ReplyDeleteGail: no... but this is easier than with the previous two who disappeared. thanks.

ReplyDeleteI always see dignity in old animals. I remembered my cat.
Oh, I'm sorry. She looks like a sweet kitty.
ReplyDeletesnowhite: thank you. I actually found it startling to see her suddenly so old looking as she got frailer.
ReplyDeleteSAW: thanks. she was.
Oh, how sad. She has such a sweet face. But a peaceful end sounds all right, as ends go.

ReplyDeleteGeewits: thanks. sadly, I don't have many pictures. I only got back into photography 3 years ago and I wish I had taken more of her...
ReplyDeleteOh no! I am so sorry for your loss. We know what you're going through. What a gorgeous girls Abby was.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry Violetsky, at least she went peacefully, that's always good.
ReplyDeleteI feel so sad for you. It's so had to lose a beloved friend.
ReplyDeleteScott: I still keep turning around expecting to see her sleeping somewhere...
ReplyDeleteJazz: thanks, when she couldn't be bothered to hiss at the vacuum cleaner, I knew it was time
EG: I do miss those cuddles....

ReplyDeletepersiflage: thanks. I will get another, but not until the fall, I think. perhaps you will, too?
