I'm ready

I wish I had something funny or quirky or even annoying to tell you about this but, I don't. What I do have are four new snow tires and a working inner door handle. After a few frustrating weeks, I can now get out of my car without having to roll down the window and open the door from the outside. And yes, there was the odd time, several actually, where I forgot I could just flip the inner handle and found myself reaching over the window frame to the outside. I had to readjust my newly acquired rhythm.

And wouldn't you know it, but it was crazy warm last night. 14C!!

However, SANTA arrives this weekend. Cause for great excitement. And for the weather to turn nasty. Santa cannot be arriving with the temperature in the teens - he'll melt. Or be grouchy. Or just sweaty and ...ripe.

But, I am ready.
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

The Timmy's holiday cups are here!
It takes so little to make me smile.
older version, taken from flikr.

  1. I'm glad your car is fixed, but there is something homey about how you had to open the door, and maybe you'll miss it. Haha.

I love that coffee cup. I am ready for winter too. Yay!

  2. My wife will be happy when we get to Montreal. She loves the coffees there.

Violet, where did you find my blog? I "know" you from Jazz's blog, but it seemd that you know my wife's and mother-in-law's blog from another one completely.

  3. Ruth: yeah, it had 'personality'. and the cups are a bit of brightness in the long dark days of winter.

Guillaume: the blogworld connections, eh?!! I think I found you from Jazz, and I remember when I clicked on your wife's link in one of your posts, I realized I had been there a few times before from who-knows-where. Which one is your MIL?

  4. Those Holiday Cups are adorable! Is there something in them? I'm not familiar with them, I'm afraid....And I don't know how your Temp translates into our Temps, here.....Like today, it is going to be close to 90 degrees....That is HOT! (lol)

  5. Naomi: Coffee. and 16C = 61F
You have 90?! That is way too hot.

  6. What do you mean, Santa is arriving? Doesn't he still have a lot of work to do up north in the next month?

  7. Yay! You got your car fixed! Yeah, like xup asked, why does Santa come so early there?

  8. Glad you're car's working.

I try not to think too much about Christmas before Thanksgiving, but once it has passed in a couple of weeks, I'll be more than ready.

  9. Apparently arriving the first Sunday in December is too late...and he must arrange his schedule around the Grey Cup.

Now, do I have to wait for you to ask what is the Grey Cup?

Alright, it's the CFL - the Canadian version of the Super Bowl but without the great commercials.

  10. Goodness 14C does sound warm for your area.
I saw lots of lovely cheap Chrissy decorations today, & did actually buy some for my daughter.

  11. What's with the special coffee cups? Can't you get those at other times of the year and if not, why not and what about the coffee that goes into them?

Santa arrives rather early, I think, and must make you all crazy with his presence in the stores. So many greedy children! I sure don't miss that.

I am glad that you can open your car in a normal way now, although the other way was kind of quaint. Very cold, though, in the wintertime.

Glad you stopped by. For anyone who stumbled here, don't be shy to say 'hi' and let me know you've visited!
